Run Hereford 2024 Sunday 12th May 2024 and Blandford flies

Dear Members,

The weather is due to be warmer again this week and Blandford flies are on the rise, these flies can cause nasty bites. It is typical that you see these flies in May/ June, they are less than 3mm long and black, the bugs are hard to spot because they fly low to the ground and usually target ankles and legs. Please be weary of this and cover up your legs as best as possible, or use repellent.

On Sunday 12th May the annual Run Hereford event is taking place, which means lots of road closures around the club for the day. The roads that are affected are:

Stretton Sugwas roundabout (A480 and A4103) to the Roman Road junction with Tillington Road (opposite Ned Potter Ltd) from 9.30am to 2.00pm.

Tillington Road between the Roman Road (A4103) and the crossroads near Burghill Valley golf course between 10am and 11am.

Crowmoor Lane (near Burghill Valley Golf Club) - all directions 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Below is a diagram of where the road closures are: click the image for more details

Please be mindful of this when travelling to the club on Sunday, there will be marshals on the day that can help with re-directions if needed.

Best wishes

Sophie
